I had my 36 week appointment today and they discovered my amniotic fluid is low. They wound up sending me to the perinatal center at my hospital to get measurements of the fluid and a NST. The doctor wants me to come back next week to get rechecked and if it’s still low I’ll be having our boy within 24 hours of that appointment.

I don’t have an answer but want to follow along as I was told 2 weeks ago, at 34 weeks my fluid was low. The only thing that made me think something was weird before I found out was that I had not put on any weight in the 2 weeks since my last dr visit, but other than that I would have no clue.

A week ago, I noticed my underwear was wet with clear non sticky discharge. It only lasted that one time. Could it be amniotic fluid leakage at 14 weeks? What is amniotic fluid? What exactly is amniotic fluid made of? What does an excess of amniotic fluid mean? What is the normal amount of amniotic fluid?
